L&MDP is a 9-day training program designed for participants committed to exploring and developing their roles and skills as leaders and managers in four specific areas: team member, team leader, team coach and team manager. - Project Manager Program (PMP)
Our Project Manager Program is a 7-day training program designed for individuals with responsibility for the effective implementation and management activities that go beyond the "normal" operations of the organization. The primary focus of our Project Manager program is to increase participants’ ability to effectively manage to specific project related tasks while simultaneously managing the dynamics within and surrounding the project management team.
Leader and Manager Development Program (L&MDP)
Target group:
Our 9½-day Leader and Manager Development Program (L&MDP) was designed for people with group-, project- or team management responsibility committed to exploring and developing their roles and skills as leaders and managers.
Overview:
The L&MDP consists of four 2-day blocks of training in addition to a 1½ day follow-up session.
Each of the four program blocks focuses on one of the four roles essential to effective performance in a management position, i.e., a manager’s role as:
- Team Member
- Team Leader
- Team Coach
- Team Manager
During the 5-6 weeks between program blocks participants are expected to complete a number of practical assignments intended to help them to bridge the gap between the training room and the “real world”.
Approximately 3 months after the fourth block of the program participants are reconvened for a 1½ day session intended to assist them in their efforts to internalize program content into their day to day leadership and management functions.
Content:
Block 1: Team Member
- Focus: Skills and insights required in order to develop and sustain effective cooperative relationships with others,
- Content: Practical exercises in self-awareness, interpersonal skills, conflict management, giving/receiving feedback, self-confidence-building, etc.
- Focus: Skills and insights required in order to develop and sustain effective work groups and teams.
- Content: Practical exercises in group decision-making, group development, group dynamics, group leadership, involvement strategies, trust building, change management, etc.
- Focus: Skills and insights required in order to support the development and performance of subordinates and colleagues.
- Content: Practical exercises in delegation skills, performance feedback skills, coaching skills, disciplinary communications, etc.
- Focus: Skills and insights required in order to function effectively in a managerial position, including the ability to manage one’s own function as an integral part of an overall organization.
- Content: Practical exercises in strategic and operative planning, proactive problem-solving, project management, managing resistance to change, managing management teams, etc.
Project Manager Program (PMP)
Our Project Manager training program is designed for individuals with responsibility for the effective implementation and management of activities that go beyond the "normal" operations of the organization.
The primary focus of our Project Manager program is to increase participants’ ability to effectively manage specific project related tasks with minimal interference with the organization’s ability to meet day-to-day operational goals.
The Project Manager Program is based on highly practical, experientially based activities performed with the support of a skilled program facilitator.
Content:
- What is a project?
- Setting goals, objectives and milestones for a project
- Defining roles and division of labour in a project
- Developing project plans
- Managing human interaction processes during ongoing projects
- Selecting an appropriate project structure
- Proactively managing barriers to project effectiveness
- Understanding and managing the project team and its members
- The role, skill and knowledge required of effective project managers
- Practical knowledge about projects – from implementation to deliverance/completion (planning, project organization, etc.)
- Managing projects in an organizational context
We recommend that the Project Manager Program be conducted over a minimum of 3+2+2 days in-residence with 5-7 weeks between program blocks.
